MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Two women were taken to the hospital with minor injuries after being stabbed during an attempted robbery in northeast Minneapolis early Monday morning, according to police.
Authorities said the incident happened at about 12:20 a.m. near the intersection of University Avenue NE and Hennepin Avenue NE. Police said two women were walking home from a bar when they were approached by a black male wearing a mask. The suspect attempted to rob them, they complied by giving him $5 and then he stabbed them both with a knife.
Police said the two women were not seriously hurt, but they were taken to Hennepin County Medical Center for treatment. They’re listed in stable condition with non-life threatening injuries.
Authorities brought a K-9 unit to the area to search for the suspect, but attempts weren’t successful. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Minneapolis Police.
