MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — The family of a missing Anoka man want to know how his body wound up in a rented RV. A bachelor party, on their way to the Kentucky Derby, found Kevin Casserly’s body in a storage compartment of the rented camper.
Casserly, 22, had been missing for six months.
As investigators try to figure out how he died, the Anoka community will come together to honor his life.
A vigil will take place Sunday night around 6 p.m. at the Northstar Station in Anoka.
Family friend Kristen Dombrowski said it’s good to finally have closure.
“But the same time, it’s bittersweet because it’s facing the actual goodbye,” she said.
Police say Casserly had a history of drug abuse, but Dombrowski said he was starting to turn that part of his life around.
“He had a tough life,” she said.
She said they don’t know yet how he died, how long the body had been in the RV, or who’s responsible for putting it there.
