MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A 36-year-old St. Louis Park man is accused of stealing more than $4,000 worth of rings from a Wayzata jewelry store, according to charges filed Friday in Hennepin County Court.
Justin Grant Evans was charged with one felony count of third-degree burglary in connection with the March 29 incident. According to a complaint, police responded to a business alarm at about 6:19 a.m. to Graham Jewelers in Wayzata. When authorities arrived, they discovered that a man later identified as Evans broke into the store and stole $4,195 in rings from the display case.
Evans was identified on video surveillance as the suspect. He is known to police and is suspected of several commercial burglaries that occurred on March 28 and March 29.
He is currently in custody and is also on parole for a felony weapons violation. If convicted on the current charge, he faces up to five years in prison and a $10,000 fine.
