MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — A 23-year-old registered sex offender faces more charges after being connected to Minneapolis robbery and attempted criminal sexual conduct.
On March 23 at noon, police responded to the 300 block of Oak Grove Street on an unknown trouble call. When they arrived, they learned an unknown man entered a female victim’s unlocked apartment, put his hand over her mouth and attempted to restrain her. While struggling with the man, the victim’s messenger bag fell to the floor and she managed to scream for help.
The man then grabbed the bag and fled.
Investigators learned that Anthony Legrette Farrar could be a possible suspect based on a similar case that occurred a day before the aforementioned incident. In the March 22 incident, Farrar allegedly followed a female victim from a bus stop, grabbed her, covered her mouth and dragged her between two buildings by the University of Minnesota.
The Oak Grove Street victim picked Farrar out of a photographic line up after his arrest on March 24.
On Friday, Farrar was charged with first-degree burglary, first-degree aggravated robbery and second-degree attempted criminal sexual conduct.
Farrar is being held in Hennepin County Jail.
