MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Authorities arrested a man in Bloomington Sunday after he allegedly dropped a sledgehammer from his balcony that landed near a neighbor with whom he had been arguing.
Police responded to the incident, which occurred near the intersection of American Boulevard and 80th Street Circle, just before 4 p.m.
The suspect’s name has not been released, but he appeared to be agitated by something that happened over the weekend, police said.
Police said the suspect was known to them and that when he initially refused to communicate, they mobilized a SWAT team and began evacuating apartments adjacent to his.
In the end, police said they arrested the suspect without incident.
