MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – With the help of a built-in GPS system, Minneapolis Police located an iPad that had been stolen from a school and arrested a juvenile suspect.

Police said two officers were called to Northeast Middle School in Minneapolis on Monday on a report of a theft. When they arrived, a witness said that a known student had broken into the victim’s locked cabinet.

When the victim checked her cabinet, her wallet and iPad were missing. Police were able to use a GPS built into the iPad to track it to the area of 37th Street Northeast and Quincy Avenue.

The victim went to that area with police and went to the suspect’s known location. Authorities located the victim’s iPad and found the suspect with the help of the suspect’s parents. The suspect was transported and booked into the Minneapolis Juvenile Detention Center.
