MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A jury could soon decide the case of a deadly hit-and-run at the University of Minnesota.
Closing arguments are scheduled Monday morning in the trial of Timothy Bakdash, who is accused of intentionally hitting four U of M students with his car.
The incident happened last April. Police say Bakdash was upset about an earlier argument at the Library Bar in Dinkytown.
They say he drove the wrong way down the street to hit the students.
Ben Van Handle was killed and another student was seriously injured.
Bakdash is charged with first-degree murder. Bakdash and his lawyers say he was too intoxicated and high on drugs that night to have premeditated his actions.
