MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A man accused of ambushing an armored truck guard at a St. Paul, Minn. gas station is now facing federal charges.
Christopher Ward was charged this week with robbery in a theft caught on surveillance cameras.
It happened at a SuperAmerica on Jan. 14, 2011.
Police say Ward confronted a guard while he was filling the ATM.
He stripped the guard of his weapon, grabbed the cash box and got away with $70,000.
The guard was not hurt.
