MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — The Hennepin County Attorney is charging three men for two recent gang-related shootings in Minneapolis.

The first shooting happened near Target Field on the night of April 12.

Twenty-seven-year-old James Davis is charged with attempted murder, and 30-year-old Justin McGee is charged with helping him.

According to the criminal complaint, both men are known members of the One Nines gang.

One of the victims in that shooting was 23-year-old Kibbie Walker.

Walker, who was treated for gunshot wounds from that night, is being charged with assault for shooting at a car near Hennepin County Medical Center last week.

Officials say he is a member of the Taliban gang.

“When we look at most of the violence throughout the city, or you could even look nationally, it’s little beefs that go on with these individuals that, in my opinion, aren’t mature enough, or feel that they can move with impunity throughout the community. That is not going to happen,” said Deputy Chief Eddie Frizell, of the Minneapolis Police.

Deputy Chief Frizell said these charges are against key members in those gangs.

He is hopeful the arrests will help slow down more violence.
