MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — A 49-year-old Shoreview, Minn. man is now charged with disorderly conduct for shoving an 11-year-old boy at a community pool.
The incident happened at the Shoreview Community Center in September last year.
According to the criminal complaint, the 11-year-old boy threw a ball that hit Robert Jablonski. The boy reportedly said he was sorry.
But, the complaint says Jablonski swam after him, grabbed his leg and slammed him onto the edge of the pool, injuring the child.
Witnesses told authorities Jablonski began lecturing the boy using profanities. He then got out of the pool and began swearing at others. At that time, a lifeguard at the pool called for help.
When multiple lifeguards approached Jablonski, the complaint states he jumped into the pool and swam away.
If convicted, Jablonski could face a maximum penalty of 90 days in prison and/or up to $1,000 in fines.
