MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Authorities said about $2 million worth of marijuana was seized in a large drug bust in Wisconsin late last week.
The Marathon County Sheriff’s Office executed several search warrants last Thursday at homes in Wausau, Wis. and the Township of Holton, Wis. as part of a large drug trafficking investigation. Authorities received a report of a suspicious package at a local delivery company, which lead them to the 800 block of Steuben Street in Wausau.
There, authorities found more than 2,100 grams of processed marijuana and thousands of dollars in cash. The homeowner, Bryan Arnold, was arrested on drug-related charges.
The same investigation also took authorities to a location in rural Athens, Wis., where there was an active operation to grow, process and sell marijuana. Authorities seized more than 700 marijuana plants, thousands of dollars in cash, more than 1,400 grams of processed marijuana and the equipment needed to grow and process the illegal drug at the location.
The Marathon County Sheriff’s Office said the marijuana had an estimated street value of $2 million. The case is still under investigation.
