ALEXANDRIA, Minn. (WCCO) – Five people are in the Douglas County Jail after the West Central Minnesota Narcotics Task Force, the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension and local police departments made a series of methamphetamine-related busts this week.

On Monday, agents and officers from Alexandria Police arrested 29-year-old Kyle Hildebrand of South Haven and 23-year-old Jami Johnson of Sauk Rapids, according to the Douglas County Sheriff’s office.

Undercover agents bought 106 grams of meth for $6,000 from Hildebrand and Johnson, which has a street value of over $21,000. They were both eventually charged with 1st-degree controlled substance sales.

On that same day, agents arrested 25-year-old Andrew Denny of Villard and 41-year-old Michael Larson of Starbuck after they sold 34.7 grams of meth to agents for $2,100.

After agents bought drugs from the pair at Denny’s residence in Villard, they followed the men to Clearwater, where they bought more meth.

After the men crossed back into Douglas County, they were pulled over and arrested after a vehicle search. Authorities found 62 grams of meth in the vehicle, worth more than $19,000 on the streets.

Denny was charged with both 1st-degree controlled substance sales and possession, while Larson was only charged with the latter.

And on Thursday, agents executed a search warrant at a residence on the 5200 block of Sunset Strip Northwest in Alexandria. They arrested Michael Burkey, 66, who will be charged with 1st-degree controlled substance sales on Friday in Douglas County Court.
