MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A man who, while an associate minister at a north Minneapolis church, was arrested after the shooting death of a high school staff member has been found guilty of the crime.

A jury found Derrick Griffin, of Minneapolis, guilty of intentional second-degree murder in the death of Kristopher Miller, who was an associate educator at Minneapolis North High School.

The shooting happened in May 2011 on the 1100 block of Irving Avenue North.

The criminal complaint alleged that Griffin shot Miller because the latter was romantically involved with Griffin’s estranged wife.

Miller had two daughters.
