MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — The Hennepin County Attorney’s Office has charged two men with murder in connection with a shooting incident at a Minneapolis after-hours club in early March.
Dominique Deshon Sinkfield, 24, of Brooklyn Park and Cory Jarrell Bryant, 27, of Minneapolis are both charged with second-degree intentional murder in connection to the March 8 incident that left two people dead and another hospitalized.
Officers were called to a commercial building on the 3800 block of Fremont Avenue North around 3 a.m. Friday on a report of shots fired. Police Sgt. Stephen McCarty said 50 to 100 people were gathered at an “after hours establishment” when the shooting occurred.
Two adult men died at the scene, one inside, and one outside the location. A third victim showed up to Hennepin County Medical Center about 20 minutes later with non-life threatening injuries.
According to the criminal complaint, witnesses at the scene told police that Bryant was waving a gray handgun around outside the building prior to the shooting. Witnesses who were with Bryant after the shootings reported that he admitted to possessing and firing a gun that night. He then reportedly left the gun at the scene.
Police recovered the gray handgun. They also recovered fired bullets and discharged cartridges, which belonged to the gray handgun and another similar handgun.
Witnesses told police that Sinkfield, also known as “D-Bo,” was Bryant’s co-conspirator.
Police said a witness reported that Sinkfield got into an argument with one of the victims, which led to a scuffle. Sinkfield then allegedly shot the victim.
DNA testing revealed that three bullets not fired by the gray gun had the first victim’s DNA on them. The second victim’s DNA was found on a bullet fired by the gray gun.
Both Sinkfield and Bryant are not currently in custody. Police said there is information that Sinkfield has fled the state.
