MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Hennepin County authorities said Friday that a task force arrested five people and confiscated 12 pounds of meth – estimated to have a street value of $200,000 – when executing two search warrants in Minneapolis.
It was the largest amount of meth ever confiscated by the county’s Violent Offender Task Force, the county sheriff’s office said.
Three of the five arrested suspects have been charged, and charges are expected for the other suspects later. Authorities did not name any of those arrested.
When executing the search warrants, officers also found $150,000 in cash and a semi-automatic pistol. Authorities did not say where in the city the searches took place.
The incident is still under investigation.
