MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — The skeletal remains found in a Burnsville park have been identified as those of a man who went missing more than a year ago, according to police.
The Hennepin County Medical Examiner identified the remains as Lorenzo Pacheco (also known as Lorenzo Moreno-Pacheco or Lorenzo Pacheco-Orozco) — a 61-year-old man who went missing on April 15, 2012.
The skeletal remains were found in Murphy Hanrahan Park in Burnsville on April 13 by a man who was walking his dog.
The medical examiner said they were able to identify the remains using previous medical records. No evidence was found of criminal activity that may have contributed to the man’s death, according to officials.
At the time of his disappearance, Burnsville Police conducted an investigation, including multiple searches of Murphy Hanrahan Park.
The investigation of the disappearance and death of Pacheco has been closed.
