ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — The head of Minnesota’s largest teachers union calls the shooting attack on a Connecticut elementary school “vicious and shocking.”
Education Minnesota President Tom Dooher says for everyone who works in a school, Friday’s shooting in Newton, Conn., is “profoundly disturbing.”
Dooher says Minnesota teachers send their condolences to the victims and their families.
He says all Minnesota schools are required to have a crisis response plan, and he encouraged districts to review them. Dooher also encouraged Minnesota parents to take time to talk with their children about what happened.
