ST. PAUL, Minn. (WCCO) – Police say they have arrested a suspect in connection with the sexual assault incident involving a St. Catherine’s University student who was walking to class earlier this month.

According to authorities, Louis Richard Oliver, 48, who’s also known as Terry Woods, had reportedly been approaching females near the parking area of Region’s Hospital in St. Paul.

“He was looking for assistance, and asking for money from females that walked in the parking area,” Sgt. Steve McCarty said, of the Minneapolis Police Department. “That’s what alerted hospital security to his presence.”

He was detained, and after investigators looked at the composite sketch of the suspect from the Nov. 19 sexual assault report near St. Kate’s, they noticed the man bore a “striking resemblance” to the sketch.

He was then taken in on an unrelated outstanding warrant, and has been booked for first-degree criminal sexual conduct.

“This individual had an outstanding warrant that’s unrelated to this rape,” McCarty said.
