MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — Two men have pleaded guilty to conspiring to distribute methamphetamine in Minnesota, according to the United States Attorney’s Office.

Alfredo Cazares-Medina, 40, of Phoenix, Ariz. and Homero Urbina-Chavez, 26, of Richfield, Minn. both pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to distribute 50 grams or more of meth. They were both indicted on April 16, 2012.

In their plea agreements, Cazares-Medina and Urbina-Chavez admitted to obtaining and distributing meth to various people in Minnesota. Urbina-Chavez admitted that on March 19, 2012, under the direction of Cazares-Medina, he met with an undercover police officer in Little Canada and sold one ounce of meth for $1,300, the US Attorney’s Office said.

After several months of investigation, authorities executed a search warrant at a “stash house” used by Cazares-Medina in Richfield and recovered nine ounces of meth.

Both men face a potential maximum penalty of life in prison.
