MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — A 41-year-old man was sentenced Tuesday in federal court for robbing the City County Federal Credit Union in Minneapolis, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Lawrence Coleman admitted he stole approximately $1,700 from the bank, located at 4701 Chicago Ave. S. on Oct. 25, 2010, and was sentenced to 120 months in prison for one count of bank robbery.

Coleman was also indicted for stealing $1,800 from the City County Federal Credit Union in Brooklyn Center, Minn., on Oct. 26, 2010, and for stealing $811 from the Citizen’s Independent Bank in Robbinsdale, Minn., on Oct. 28, 2010.

Although Coleman pleaded guilty only to the Oct. 25 bank robbery, the judge ordered him to pay restitution for all three robberies.

According to a law enforcement affidavit filed in the case, the robber, later identified as Coleman, walked into the credit union and handed a teller a note that read, “Don’t talk, don’t move. Give me your $100 or I will shoot you.”
