ST. PAUL, Minn. (WCCO) – Authorities are looking for a man who robbed a St. Paul bank on Wednesday afternoon and they believe it could be the infamous “Man in Black.”

It happened around 3:15 p.m. at the M&I Bank located at 522 Snelling Avenue South. The FBI said a man entered the bank and approached the teller counter with a handgun.

The robber demanded and received cash, and then fled the bank with an undisclosed amount.

The suspect is described as a white man, between 30-40 years old. He was between 5 feet, 11 inches and 6 feet tall, wearing a black mask, brownish-green coat, blue jeans, gloves and a gray winter hat.

Even though the man who robbed the bank wasn’t entirely dressed in black, the FBI believes he may be the same person who’s struck several Twin Cities banks in recent weeks.

“In the event that this turns out to be the work of the ‘Man in Black’ he has definitely changed up his wardrobe once again,” said FBI Special Agent Kyle Loven.

A $25,000 dollar reward is offered for information leading to the “Man in Black.”

Anyone with information about the M&I Bank robbery, or any of the “Man in Black” robberies, is asked to call the FBI at 612-376-3200.
