ST. PAUL, Minn. (WCCO) – A 26-year-old St. Paul man will spend more than two years in prison for assaulting his girlfriend, threatening her kids and assaulting police officer.
Sean Isaac Clark was sentenced to 33 months in prison in Ramsey County Court on Wednesday in connection with the Jan. 12 incident. He had pleaded guilty earlier to three charges each of assault and burglary.
According to a complaint, St. Paul Police responded to a report of an assault on Jan. 12 inside the victim’s apartment. When authorities arrived, officers heard screaming and begging from inside the residence as well as children crying. When officers opened the door, the female victim screamed “He is trying to kill me and my kids,” referring to Clark.
Clark had come to the apartment to pick up some possessions after he and the woman ended their relationship. The complaint states he kicked in the door and beat and strangled the woman in front of her kids. He then spit at and attempted to head-butt a police officer after he was detained outside.
