MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Authorities are investigating after a marijuana operation was discovered following a fire on Monday at an apartment complex in St. Joseph.
The St. Joseph Fire Department responded to a report of a fire in a laundry room on Monday on the 700 block of College Avenue South. When authorities arrived, they put out the fire and checked neighboring apartments for signs of fire. They then discovered a marijuana operation going on in one of the apartments.
St. Joseph is a small town just north and west of St. Cloud off Interstate 94.
Police were called in to investigate and while executing a search warrant, they found 166 marijuana plants in several rooms as well as other controlled substances. No arrests have been made at this time and police are continuing their investigation.
