GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) — Lab tests show that a North Dakota Highway Patrol captain arrested in Minnesota allegedly had a blood alcohol level nearly twice that state’s legal limit for driving.

Grand Forks regional Capt. Kevin Robson was arrested on suspicion of drunken driving southeast of Bemidji, Minn., on March 10. The charge is a misdemeanor.

Patrol Superintendent James Prochniak says Robson remains on paid personal leave while the patrol looks into the arrest.

The 42-year-old Robson has been with the North Dakota Highway Patrol for 15 years and is the administrative commander for a seven-county region. He supervises 29 officers. He did not immediately respond to an Associated Press request for comment on Tuesday.
