MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A 41-year-old St. Paul man is accused of robbing a CVS Pharmacy in Minneapolis at gunpoint on March 27, according to charges filed Thursday in Hennepin County Court.
Jerry Lynn Phillips was charged with first-degree aggravated robbery in connection with the incident.
According to the charges, Minneapolis Police responded to a report of an aggravated robbery on March 27 at the CVS Pharmacy on 37th Avenue NE in Minneapolis. When authorities arrived, a female employee told police she was behind the counter when a male, later identified as Phillips, approached, brandished a knife and demanded money.
Phillips fled the store on foot and eventually got away in a vehicle, the complaint states.
Police traced him back to St. Paul through his vehicle registration and attempted to arrest him at his home. According to the complaint, he backed out of his driveway and escaped through his front yard. He eventually lost control of his vehicle, rolled it and was eventually arrested.
If convicted, he faces more than a year in prison and a $35,000 fine.
