MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — The man suspected of assaulting a Washington County Sheriff’s deputy last Thursday is now behind bars.
Polk County Sheriff’s deputies arrested Tyler Robert Chute, 20, near Luck, Wisconsin around 10:15 p.m. Saturday night. Police say Chute was hiding in a hide-a-bed sofa.
The department said one of their seasoned deputies tried to pull over a suspicious car along St. Croix Trail North at about 9:30 p.m. Thursday night.
During the stop, the suspect assaulted the deputy, kicking and punching him before fleeing on foot.
The sheriff’s deputy was not hospitalized.
A number of other resources were called in to search for the suspect but he was not located until Saturday night.
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office had issued a warrant for his arrest.
