MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A 42-year-old Red Wing man pleaded guilty in Minneapolis Federal Court on Friday to receiving child pornography and admitted that he had at least 14,000 images of child porn.
Ronald Lee Rainwater pleaded guilty to one count of receipt of child pornography in connection with the case. He was indicted on May 18, 2011.
In his plea agreement, he admitted that on Jan. 4, 2009, he received images involving a minor engaged in sexually explicit conduct. Rainwater also admitted to possessing at least 14,000 pictures and 2,600 videos of minors engaged in sexual conduct. Those images included sadistic or masochistic material.
Authorities found the images on his computer and an external hard drive, which were seized after a search warrant was executed at his residence on Aug. 12, 2009.
Rainwater could face up to 20 years in prison.
