MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A 49-year-old Minneapolis man is accused of robbing a TCF Bank at gunpoint on Wednesday, according to charges filed Thursday in Hennepin County Court.

Brady Anthony Johnson was charged with second-degree aggravated robbery in connection with the incident.

According to a complaint, Minneapolis Police were called to the TCF Bank on the 1400 block of West Lake Street on Wednesday on a report of a robbery. When authorities arrived, a bank teller told police that Johnson entered the bank and approached her window.

She said he told her it was a robbery and to “Give me $100s, $50, $20, $10, $5, $1, do what I say.” Johnson implied he had a gun with one hand in the pocket of his hooded sweatshirt that appeared to be holding something, according to the complaint.

The teller told police she believed he would harm her if she didn’t comply with his demands. The teller gave Johnson the money, some with a GPS tracking device, and he fled the bank. Johnson was tracked by the GPS to a bus and arrested.

Johnson later told police he knew he was going to jail for a long time because “I know I robbed the TCF Bank,” the complaint states.

If convicted, Johnson faces up to 15 years in prison and a $30,000 fine.
