MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — A 28-year-old Cass Lake man has entered a plea agreement to serve 45 years in prison on a second-degree intentional murder charge and two counts of second-degree assault with a firearm.
Ross Littlewolf pleaded guilty to the offenses Tuesday and will be sentenced April 30.
According to the criminal complaint, officers responded to a report of a domestic disturbance at a residence in Cass Lake, shortly after 3 a.m. June 26, 2011.
Upon arrival, they found the body of Kandace Blaine Dunn, 22, who was killed by a gunshot wound to the head. Witnesses said they heard about three gunshots and heard Dunn scream. Then Littlewolf came into their bedroom and aimed the gun at them, threatening to kill them both.
He told them to take care of the children and left the residence.
Littlewolf was arrested five hours later at a relative’s home.
