MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Police jolted a man with a Taser after he displayed a knife following a chase through multiple counties Saturday, authorities said.
The Hector Police Department said in a press release that the man was sought in connection with a domestic assault incident in Carver County.
A McLeod County deputy initially spotted the man’s vehicle as it entered eastern Renville County. The deputy then requested help from Renville County officers in stopping the man. A stop attempt was made, however, the man failed to stop, authorities said.
The chase ended in Sibley County, where the man got out of his car, armed with a knife. The man approached police from Hector and Buffalo Lake. Police said that after he failed to follow their orders, they tased him into submission.
Without further incident, police took the suspect into custody. He underwent an evaluation at Renville County Hospital and is currently in custody at the Renville County jail, where he awaits pending charges, police said.
