ST. CLOUD, Minn. (WCCO) – Authorities said a 29-year-old man was arrested and about $100,000 worth of marijuana was seized Wednesday from a St. Cloud residence after a search warrant was executed.
Officers with the St. Cloud Metro Gang Strike Force and St. Cloud Drug Unit executed the warrant on the 700 block of Washington Memorial Drive. A search of the residence revealed an active marijuana growing operation including 82 plants in different stages of growth and 70 plants that had been harvested.
Authorities estimated the value of the marijuana at about $100,000. Officers also found Ziploc bags with various amounts of marijuana along with a digital scale. Chad Edward Scheeler, 29, was arrested at the scene and a check of his criminal past included a drug violation and possession of a shotgun.
Scheeler was charged with fifth-degree sale of a controlled substance. Authorities said the case is still under investigation.
