MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Authorities are investigating after a 15-year-old boy was found dead near a set of railroad tracks in northeast Minneapolis Thursday night, according to police.
Police said a railroad worker spotted the body Thursday night around 10:15 p.m. in the area of 14th Avenue NE and Fillmore Street and called police.
The Hennepin County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the boy early Friday evening as Christopher Hanson of Minneapolis. The examiner’s office ruled Hanson died of injuries suffered in a train mishap. He suffered multiple blunt force craniocerebral injuries as the incident happened about 225 feet from a railroad marker.
Minneapolis Police continue to investigate incident along with the Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad.
The incident remains under investigation at this time.
