MAPLE GROVE, Minn. (WCCO) – The Maple Grove Police Department is looking for the public’s help in solving the cold case of a fatal 0 hit-and-run accident that happened back in 2003.
Becky Nelson had just parked her car at the Maple Grove Community Center on Feb. 20, 2003, to go to her son’s hockey practice that night. She was walking across a side street towards the front entrance when she was hit by a car, and police say the driver took off. Nelson died as a result of the accident.
Police say no witnesses from the incident have come forward and there were no outside cameras at the community center, so there is no visual evidence of the incident. At last check, a reward of up to $1,000 was being offered for information leading to an arrest in the case.
