MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — A 35-year-old man has been charged with burglary, criminal damage to property and theft for allegedly stealing booze from a liquor store worth more than $1,000.
Police say Gustry Lasham Sailee, of Brooklyn Center, is facing charges for an incident from January. Coon Rapids Police were dispatched to Rapids Warehouse Liquors on Jan. 14 for a report of a burglary.
Upon arrival, police say a large quantity of high-end liquor was stolen — approximately 25 bottles worth $1,148 was taken. One bottle of Cognac, which is valued at $1,500, was also broken during the crime.
Video surveillance showed two black men that entered the liquor store by breaking the front window. They filled a plastic container with alcohol and left out the window.
Police met with Sailee, after he was arrested for a burglary in Minnetonka on Feb. 5. After reviewing the surveillance tapes and seeing Sailee, face-to-face, police identified him as one of the suspects from the Jan. 14 incident.
