ST. PAUL, Minn. (WCCO) – A 27-year-old St. Paul man was convicted in Ramsey County Court Wednesday for his role in the Nov. 9, 2010, shooting death of then 28-year-old Joseph John Sanchez.
Nicholas Theodore Jackson, who also goes by Nicholas Theodore Anderson, had been charged with second-degree murder in connection with the incident. He was accused along with Nathan Nicholas Durick of killing Sanchez in St. Paul over a previous incident.
According to a criminal complaint states Durick and Jackson went to a house on the 1100 block of Payne Avenue on Nov. 9, 2010, when they saw Sanchez in an alley. Both Durick and Jackson were armed, and they both shot at Sanchez before fleeing the scene.
Police who were called to the home of the shooting found Sanchez kneeling in the yard. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Durick pleaded guilty in the incident and was sentenced to 38 years in prison last April.
