MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A 29-year-old Andover man was arrested Tuesday night for allegedly setting another man on fire inside a home over a dispute, according to the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office.

Officers were called to the 1300 block of 137th Lane NW in Anoka County at about 9:40 p.m. on a possible house fire. When authorities arrived, they found a 55-year-old man who had been severely burned inside the home.

Authorities said the man had been allegedly doused with an accelerant and set on fire by his roommate, who was also his landlord. The suspect had fled the scene by the time officers arrived.

Earlier in the night, officers were at the residence for a dispute between the two, but no crime had been committed and the two agreed to separate for the night.

Authorities said the victim is currently in critical condition at Hennepin County Medical Center with burns covering 80 percent of his body. Police sent out an alert for the suspect after it was learned he had access to a cabin in near Orr, Minn.

The St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office located the suspect, identified as Adam John Lilienthal, and took him into custody. Lilienthal also suffered minor burns to his face, authorities said.

The incident remains under investigation.
