MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A Bloomington man is behind bars and accused of sexually assaulting a woman in a Walgreen’s bathroom.
Police arrested 23-year-old Jonathan Day on Monday night at his apartment.
According to the criminal complaint, the victim is a vulnerable adult who was shopping with her mother.
The victim was alone in an aisle when Day allegedly lured her into the men’s bathroom and tried to rape her.
As he left the store, the victim pointed him out to her mother.
A Walgreen’s employee recognized him as a regular customer and called police.
“One of the store employees did a fantastic job of following the suspect outside the store into a nearby apartment complex and officers that responded were able to determine what apartment the suspect was in and able to arrest him,” said Deputy Chief Rick Hart, of Bloomington Police.
Day now faces four charges of criminal sexual conduct and could get at least 15 years in prison if convicted.
