MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Retired Twin Cities Archbishop Harry Flynn says he can’t remember how he handled clergy sex abuse cases during his 13-year tenure.
“I don’t remember anyone complaining to me, to me,” he said.
Flynn’s videotaped deposition he made last month was released on Wednesday. It’s part of a lawsuit by a man who says he was sexually abused by a former priest.
In the deposition, Flynn said at least 134 times that he could not recall how he handled abuse cases.
The 81-year-old said he did not have dementia or other diagnosed memory problems.
The Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis is not commenting on Flynn’s deposition.
