MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A gunfight between two men on the city’s north side ended Friday afternoon with police chasing the suspects on foot and shooting one of them.
The foot chase happened after officers responded to a call at about 3:30 p.m. saying two men were fighting, and one was armed, near the intersection of North 24th Avenue and North 3rd Street, Minneapolis Police say.
Shots were fired in the area before police arrived. When they got to the scene, two officers began chasing the two suspects on foot.
One of those officers shot at the suspects, hitting one. That suspect – who has not been named – suffered non-life-threatening injuries, police say.
Both men are in custody, and police are not seeking any more suspects.
The suspects received treatment at an area hospital.
During the chase, one officer suffered minor injuries, but was not shot, police say. He was also brought to an area hospital for treatment.
Officers recovered one weapon from the scene, and the shooting remains under investigation.
