MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Authorities in southeastern Minnesota are asking for the public’s help as a fugitive who is wanted for fleeing police is at-large.
The Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office located the suspect, identified as 49-year-old Gregory Victor Ahlers of Lake City, at a residence on the 800 block of Paxton Road Southwest in Rochester Township. They responded to the scene at about 4:41 p.m. Wednesday and set up a perimeter around the residence.
Authorities said he is wanted for two felony warrants in the area, both for charges of fleeing a peace officer in a motor vehicle. Because of his criminal history, officers called for the Olmsted County Emergency Response Unit in an attempt to take him into custody.
During several attempts to make contact with Ahlers, he fled the residence out the back door and into a heavily wooded area. A search by several agencies that followed was unsuccessful, and he remains at-large.
Authorities said the search for Ahlers is ongoing, and anyone who has seen him or might know of his whereabouts is asked to call 911 or the Olmsted County Sheriff’s Office. He is described as about 6 feet, 1 inch tall, about 230 pounds and bald with green eyes and a goatee.
