MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Tuesday was a day of awards for the Minneapolis Police Department.
At a morning ceremony, Chief Janeé Harteau handed out several awards to different officers.
The chief also gave out a Citizen’s Award for Valor to Mohammad Armeli. He’s the man who chased down a suspect who punched a child and took off with his iPad.
Harteau also announced the department’s 2013 Officer of the Year.
It was Officer Chad Meyer, but he wasn’t at the ceremony.
Last year, Meyer lost part of a finger when a suspect bit it off.
