MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — A third civil suit was filed Tuesday in a Rice County Court against Shattuck-St. Mary’s School in Faribault, Minn., alleging that administrators knew a teacher had engaged in sexually-inappropriate behavior with male students.
The student who filed the suit claims his was abused during the 2000-2001 school year by Lynn Seibel, according to the law firm of Jeff Anderson and Associates. Seibel was both a drama teacher and a “dorm parent,” who lived with students.
The law firm claims that new evidence submitted in another on-going lawsuit revealed that the headmaster at Shattuck-St. Mary’s at that time took no action against Seibel, who was allowed to continue working with students.
Seibel resigned from his position in 2003 after child pornography who found on his computer, but the suit claims school officials did not notified law enforcement. He taught at the school for 11 years.
After leaving the school, Seibel moved back to Los Angeles to find work as an actor. His last on-screen appearance before his arrest was in a 2012 episode of “The Big Band Theory.”
He plead guilty last July to seven counts of criminal sexual conduct for abusing six male students at Shattuck, and is currently serving a four-year prison sentence.
