MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — The wife of a man accused of killing his neighbor in New Brighton, Minn. now faces criminal charges, according to the Ramsey County Attorney’s office.

Paula Zumberge, 50, was charged Thursday with one count of aiding and abetting second-degree murder and one count of aiding and abetting second-degree attempted murder.

According to the criminal complaint, she was heard yelling “keep shooting” as police say her husband, 57-year-old Neal Zumberge, fired a shotgun at his neighbors.

Todd Stevens was killed. His girlfriend, Jennifer Cleven, was shot twice but survived.

Cleven told police there has been a long-running feud with the Zumberges. Just hours before the shooting Monday night, Zumberge’s son had been arrested for threatening Cleven and Stevens.

The shooting happened after Paula Zumberge confronted Cleven about the arrest.

According to Ramsey County Jail records, Paula Zumberge turned herself into police at about 4:50 p.m. Thursday. If convicted, she could face up to 40 years in prison.
