MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — A driver given a ticket for failing to remain in a traffic lane due to potholes will not receive a ticket after all, the Rosemount Police announced Wednesday.
Police say on May 3, the driver was ticketed and expressed concern to the department about the citation being issued, due to the potholes.
After reviewing the traffic stop with the Rosemount City Attorney, the police department says they decided not to proceed with prosecution of the ticket and that the driver met with Chief Eric Werner to discuss the decision.
“Police officers are required to make numerous judgment decisions throughout the day. The Rosemount Police Department is always committed to reviewing the work of its members to ensure the best service is provided to the community,” the police department said in a statement.
