MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Two Minneapolis police officers were taken to a hospital as a precaution Tuesday night after an SUV T-boned a squad car on the city’s north side.
It happened at about 9:16 p.m. near the intersection of 36th and Russell Avenues, police said. The squad had just left a crime scene and was headed eastbound on 36th Avenue when the SUV, headed south on Russell Avenue, slammed into its driver’s side. It’s not yet clear what caused the collision.
The two people inside the SUV refused medical treatment at the scene. The two police officers suffered non-life-threatening injuries and were taken to North Memorial Medical Center for treatment. They were expected to be released overnight, authorities said.
