MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A former Minnesota Vikings defensive player was sentenced Friday to 90 days in jail after pleading guilty to domestic assault, officials say.
Anthony Ray Jefferson Jr., 25, was charged last November after allegedly choking his girlfriend following an argument over text messages.
Jefferson pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor count of domestic assault earlier this month, the Hennepin County Attorney’s office says.
He was sentenced Thursday to serve 90 days in jail and a year of probation.
The Vikings released Jefferson on Nov. 25, the day of his arrest.
