MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Authorities in northern Minnesota are looking for suspects in a burglary last month after an empty money bag was turned into a Bemidji bank.

The Hubbard County Sheriff’s Office said the burglary happened at a residence in northern Hubbard County, likely between Feb. 9-13. Authorities said a money bag containing proceeds from a church fundraiser for the Knights of Columbus had been stolen. An empty money bag was recovered in the area of Cass Lake and turned into the First National Bank in Bemidji on Feb. 11 by an unknown man.

The Hubbard County Sheriff’s Office, with assistance from the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, is looking for the man who found the money bag to get more information on where it was and at what time it was found.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to call the Hubbard County Sheriff’s Office at (888) 732-3322.
