WILLOW RIVER, Minn. (WCCO) – Officials say a man who walked away from the Minnesota Department of Corrections’ Challenge Incarceration Program Tuesday night has turned himself in.

At about 8:30 p.m., Richard James O’Reilly reportedly walked away from the program, which is intended for non-violent offenders.

O’Reilly was described as standing 5 feet, 9 inches tall and weighing 180 pounds. His age was not specified by the Department of Corrections.

The Challenge Incarceration Program consists of three phases. The first involves a boot camp with a focus on chemical dependency treatment, education, physical training and transition preparation. The second and third phases involve close supervision within the community.
