MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) — A 61-year-old man previously charged with second-degree intentional murder has now been indicted for first-degree premeditated murder, second-degree murder and interference with a dead body.
The Cass County attorney said the grand jury returned the indictment of Helene Teresa Mitchell-Abraham last week after two days of testimony.
The criminal complaint alleges that Mitchell-Abraham intentionally struck and killed her estranged husband, 64-year-old Wendall Wayne Abraham with her vehicle on Sept. 23, 2010.
Mitchell-Abraham’s next court appearance is scheduled for March 19. A jury trial is scheduled on May 7.
A conviction of first-degree murder carries a life sentence without the possibility of parole.
