MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – Friends and family of a St. Paul woman killed in a hit-and-run say they’re not giving up.

They’re working to help police find the driver who killed 53-year-old Tracy Klotz three months ago.

On Friday night, they held a candlelight vigil in her memory. They gathered along the 700 block of Randolph Avenue near the spot where it happened.

“It helps us heal and feel like we’re honoring her,” said Jeff Lyman, a friend.

On Nov. 1, 2013, Tracy dropped a friend off at their home on Randolph Avenue. As she stepped out of her car, she was hit. The driver took off.

“It’s horrible, I mean one day she was there, and the next day she was gone,” said her cousin, Claudia DuBord. “The hardest part about of losing her is, you know, the way it happened.”

Friends made flyers, a Facebook page, and raised $5,100 for a reward hoping it will lead to an arrest.

“We’re just trying to do anything we can to right the wrong that’s been committed here,” Lyman said.

Police believe the driver was in a four-door silver Lexus, 2001-2006 model.

Friends organized the vigil hoping to spark new leads.

“We just want closure, we want someone to fess up and come forward,” Dubord said.

They’re vowing to keep Tracy’s story in the public eye until the driver is found.

Sgt. Paul Paulos of the St. Paul Police Department says they have no updates on the case and are urging anyone with information to give them a call at 651-291-1111.
